The Hands of Time

I’m surrounded by clocks
with hands that never stop.
I feel time slipping
with my reality shifting.
How can something I can’t see
afford me the chance to breathe?
I never question the hands
that control my time and plan.
I live the best I can.
I’ve escaped the hands of time
and found hands just like mine.

Drive Me Crazy

Crazy is a place I’ve been
Many times. I can’t lie.
I’ll visit this place again.
It’s just a matter of time.
I can drive myself crazy
On a full tank of gas.
My mind isn’t lazy;
My thoughts run fast.
My speed starts to rise;
I start losing all control.
Will this be my demise?
I want to feel my soul.
Please don’t dare drive
Me away from my life.
Crazy is a place I visit.
I go, but I never stay.
My speed has no limit;
I drive all night and day.
No matter the roads,
This is the life I chose.
I can drive myself crazy,
I don’t do it purposely
Cuz’ these roads raised me
And the ride was free.

The King of Spring

I got a spring in my step:
a twinkle in my eye.
The sun is blazing
as my needs are met.
On this day, I won’t be shy.
You bet I will be staying
until the sun is set.
I’m not sad, no need to be
when my soul runs free.
The chirping birds
and pastel-colored words
are being sung and heard.
To me, it must be spring;
Why not dance and sing?
I got a spring in my step:
a real reason to breathe.
There’s no reason to frown
as sunlight hits my crown.

Triangulate My Fate

I have to be close to where
I want to be. It is hard
to measure what I can’t see.
I know I am close
to what means the most.
I can finally see beams
of light cut up the night.
As I push on, I can see
a familiar reflection
smiling back at me.
I desired so much;
I almost lost touch.
Now I must find
what continues to shine.
In this life of mine,
I will never whine.
I must find my fate
before it is too late.
I must live hour to hour,
work away, and remember
to play. My fate awaits
another day as I push on
through life’s crazy maze.

One Last Time

The boy got in his car
and drove really far.
The boy drove so fast
on a familiar track.
He has driven this road before.
He knew this road all too well.
The road shook the boy’s core
more than the boy could tell.
The boy thought of all the times
he enjoyed the sunshine.
This drive was different.
This day was very gloomy.
The boy was feeling bent
as his sorrow was blooming.
The boy got out of his car
and walked really far.
The boy walked so fast
that his breath didn’t last.
He followed his old footsteps
to see a place he had to face.
He erased the memories left
to clear up some space.
The boy struggled to leave,
but he said his goodbyes.
The boy got in his car
and drove really far.
With tears in his eyes,
old memories began to die.
One last time, he looked back
before the photo faded to black.
