Spit Against the Wind

Don’t fight the feeling. Embrace emotions.

Face the pain. Feel the rain. Become

a warrior of life. Tap into your mental.

Life isn’t a rental. You own it. Show

your true colors. Be yourself. Don’t

pretend to be someone else. Help

yourself to this beautiful life. Buy

yourself flowers. Take April showers.

Rid yourself of the masks you wear.

Don’t care what others think. Sink

or swim. The rise and fall. Feel it

all. Don’t run away or escape. You

can be a hero without a cape. Face

your fears and embrace the tears.

Enjoy the struggle. Stand on the rubble.

Growing Pains (Poetry Book)

Hello! I know it has been about 5ish months since my last poetry book release. I have been writing still, but with school starting back up, I had to put on my teaching pants. I found some time to upload my most recent project called Growing Pains. Really, each chapbook explores a period in my life and closely follows a general, universal theme. Growing up is hard and the pain that follows can sometimes be unbearable. The reality is that we all have to grow up – but it doesn’t always have to be painful. There is hope, control, and clarity that comes with growing older. It can be painful, but beautiful as well. This poetry collection explores the human condition and ever-changing principles of life. Enjoy! Thank you for your interest and enjoy my latest bunch of poems!

All In

To jump all in means to be here
when it begins. We must be ready –
We must be all in. To dive headfirst
means to embrace the worst. Notice
the world we feel. Be a part of what
you see. To be all in means to
sacrifice comfort – to offer support.
Be someone who goes all in. Change
the world around you, but really,
be yourself, too. It’s what we do.

Rain Check

How much will I get
for your rain check?
Can any amount
of money buy me
my time back?
We can’t make up
time. We have
so much down
time and before
we know it, it goes.
Is your rain check
valid or not?
Because it rains
a lot. Who thought?
We both know
I can’t cash checks
you write because
to me, there’s no
rain in sight.
