We all have demons living
inside of us. We cannot
trust them. They tell us
things that are not true.
They follow us around.
They are bound to us.
Sometimes, they talk
badly. And, sadly, they
may never go away. Now,
face the demons that
suck the life out of you.
Quiet their voices. Make
important choices. Break
free from the chains.
Your body is your domain.
Rid your soul and brain
of demons causing pain.
Enjoy life for what it is.
Talk with your demons
to develop understanding
of where you are landing.
Move toward a new life
because it is your right.

I am blessed to have felt
your light. It burns bright.
Through the pain and worry –
life was never boring. Blessed:
I am blessed to have seen
you and your ultra light beam.
Now, even when the light
starts to fade, I remember
the memories we made.
Your light will shine forever
as I live on with you gone.
Blessed: I am blessed to know
that your light will follow
where ever darkness goes.
Your light will shine just fine
as I try to brighten mine.

Misguided Missiles

Rockets fly – missiles shoot across the sky.
Who is shooting these large weapons?
Destruction seems tempting. Missiles
lose control after being launched. Now,
I see misguided missiles fly without
a purpose. Once shot, it’s an afterthought.
They are forgotten. If missiles don’t have
a guide, then they are sure to collide.
Don’t shoot at those who have chosen to
live in peace. Don’t launch a rocket
at those who have empty pockets.
If you do shoot, guide your missile
before, during, and after its dismissal.

The Shape Shifter

It can change its face.
It can take your place.
It can shift its shape.
It can live inside us all.
It can burn all the love
you have left. It can hurt
the soul. It can pull you
more than you know.
It can grow fast. It can
control your thoughts.
It can tell you to be
someone new. It can look
like me or you. It can start
there and come here. Don’t
be fooled. The evil lurking
around can shape shift.
It can take you away
from yourself. Don’t let it.
Don’t run. Face your fear
and look in the mirror.
Don’t disappear. Combat
the evil with peace, love.
Allow the light to guide you
to a feeling you once knew.
