Resist the urge to be mean

to yourself. Love yourself.

Be yourself. Tell those voices

to be nice, and don’t think

twice about silencing sounds,

words, or comments that bring

you down. You are amazing.

You are great. You are different.

You are meant to be special.

You are all the world needs.

Resist the urge to be the same.

You are rare. Uniqueness must

remain. Feel alive and well.

You still have stories to tell.

Don’t give in to bad thoughts.

Resist. Time can’t be bought.

Being yourself can’t be taught.

Don’t forget to take your time

before someone takes it for you.

Breathe. Relax. This game is life

goes so fast. Smile. Laugh. Sit

back before the chickens hatch.

Enjoy your time and others will

too. Take your time. Go. Live

your life, and I will live mine.

Together, we can take small steps

on the stairwell to eternity. Then,

we will know how it feels to be

free. Look ahead: not at a watch.

Forget all that you were taught.

Don’t rush. Be patient. Say that

it will work out. Say that

it will be fine taking your time.

It’s better to remember
old memories than to
make new enemies.
Memories made play
a big role in creating
words worth saying.
In this life, we must
look back at the past
before realizing life
moves all too fast.
Nothing is forever
except the feelings
you left me. Memories
made are memories
saved. My brain
doesn’t mind taking
time to remember
what others don’t.
Memories made are
set in stone placed
outside this dome
I get to call home.

In your mind.
Return to
Your body. Pick
Up your pen.
Then, lay down
Your journal.
Look internally,
Eternally. Let
Words flow
On the page.
Break free
From the cage
Causing you
Rage. Release
The pain inside
And find
That silver line
In each rhyme.
Rid yourself
Of the stress –
Put to rest
The weight
You carry
In your chest.
Write with no
End in sight.
Wrong or right,
Live a life
Worth writing
About before
Your pen’s ink
Runs out.
