Take me home: the place I love. Let the positive vibrations take me away. Let the rhythm solve my problems. Take me into your place of refuge. Take me to a distant place: a foreign land. If you can, take me by the hand. Take me, and teach me about life, love, forgiveness, and truth. Reggae, stay; continue to play. Take me closer to myself – I could use your guidance. The waves of sound wash away the worry: no hurry. I can breathe and clearly see the place you wish to take me.
Listen to my poem, Brace for Impact, come to life. Washington musician, Kyle Bain, recorded this song. This is a very special song as it was presented to me at a low time in my life. Weeks prior to Christmas, my lovely sister, Heather passed away and when I heard this song on Christmas, it was like she was speaking to me. I wrote this poem a few years ago and didn’t quite understand the impact it would have on me at a later time. I believe everything happens for a reason and I believe I wrote this poem for a reason. I love you, Heather. This one is for you.

Which face will I wear today? What words do I need to say? Throughout my day, I relay words coming from within. I begin by thinking away – planning just how to begin. Every day has its own face. It just depends on my state. I face the music. I face the facts. I face many things. I can wear many faces. I do what I can to get out of my own way. I’m happy I get to face another day.
I play our song when I’m alone. I hear our song on my way home. Track 24 plays for all my days. Our song will last as long as I do. Life goes fast, but our song slows the time. I am happy when I hear our song. Dear, it won’t be long. We are strong. I hear our song and I think of us. It brings me back to a simpler time. I hear our song to just rewind – to just unwind. I keep our song in my mind.
