To jump all in means to be here
when it begins. We must be ready –
We must be all in. To dive headfirst
means to embrace the worst. Notice
the world we feel. Be a part of what
you see. To be all in means to
sacrifice comfort – to offer support.
Be someone who goes all in. Change
the world around you, but really,
be yourself, too. It’s what we do.
Alone, on the water, I lay.
It’s just me. Nothing to say.
I’ve been drifting all night
and day. I am drifting
out of sight. I’ll be alright.
This water has taken me
and pushed me to be
another man lost at sea.
I’m not lost; I’m just free.
I drift closer to the sun
and I begin to think –
I’m not the only one.
Can you spare some change?
Can you buy common sense?
If you can, please do?
You can learn something new.
You can help and I can too.
We can change the way
We feel and what we say.
We can change. There is time.
We can spare some change.
We can change. We can be
different in every way.
Our song plays and time stops.
It’s just me and you. We dance
all night as our light slowly burns.
Your eyes say more than you
know. I must know how you feel.
This is real. The DJ plays a slow song
and I fall in love again. It must be
our song. I can’t be wrong. Our song
plays. We hold each other. We rock
back and forth into the night
as we share this dance for the rest
of our days, the rest of our life.
This is my 7th Self-Published chapbook. It is called The Road I Chose. The theme is the unknown. Often times, we go through life and we are constantly presented with big decisions. The decisions we choose inevitably affect our future. I explore the feelings of being lost, being found, and being hopeful. This is the 3rd chapbook in The Driveway Journals collection, which will consist of four total chapbooks. Please enjoy this chapbook and allow it to bring peace and refuge into your life!
Peace and Love,
I now present to you…
