Alien-nation

We live in a space station.
Welcome to Alien-nation.
It’s just us for miles and miles.
We have cabinets with files
on each Earthling: something
that helps the Alien-nation.
We’re here and we’re there –
learning new information.
We wait until the night
and prepare beams of light.
Before you know, we float
into the sky and fly away
to be seen another day.
The Alien-nation takes trips
on spaceships. We, the Alien-
nation, live in alienation.
We prefer it this way. We
must give others their space.
Who knows? Someday, Aliens
might face the human race.

Another Story

I’ve been building. Each day,
I’m climbing higher and higher
up life’s unpredictable tower.
Another day – another ladder.
The stories that I hear seem
to eliminate all of my fear.
In this life, I grow each night
and to my own surprise,
I build until sunrise – first light.
To see stories beneath me
means that I’m almost free.
I don’t look down or go back.
Each day, I continue building,
but that’s just another story.
I’ll continue to grow and build
until my dream is fulfilled.

The Stars Above

When I look up, I see stars

race across the night’s sky.

I notice how fast they move.

They come and go. I know

the stars don’t stay long.

Whenever I feel down,

I look up to the sky above

and feel nothing but love.

Time flies like memories,

making moments temporary.

The sky reminds me to be

like every star that I see.

Camouflage

I blend into my environment.
I become one with it.
Leaves become a part of me.
I stay still as silence fills
the air that I breathe.
I can’t be seen. I know
when and where to show.
It’s by choice I hide –
concealing what’s inside.
In life, I leave the sight
of those who lack light.
I stay away during the day;
I become a star seen at night.

Hope

I hope to have hope. I need to cope.
Life’s a steep slope. Living is like climbing
up a burning rope. These four letters form
protection from the storm. I search for
the light that guides my sight. I try to fly
this kite every day and night. I try to win
this fight – to ensure there is nothing left.
I hope I have hope – a burning light
in the dark. I hope to be myself.
I hope I can be of some help.
