Moment of Truth

Don’t look now. It’s the moment of truth.

Have no fear as all comes to light.

The darkness has passed. You know

what’s right. There’s a time and place

to face reality, and that time is now.

Collect some money and pay the piper.

It may sound funny but learn to love

the transient weather because it will,

one day, get better. No time to run away.

There’s no time to hide. Jump on the ride.

It’s the moment of truth. You’ve been

waiting and so has your unfilled destiny.

Walk toward the light. Do not fight it.

Lift yourself up and enjoy this moment

of truth. Conviction and pure attrition.

Ambition and depiction. Subscribe to

the feeling of being alive. Now, don’t

look back and face the music. Life is

a special gift. Be sure not to lose it.

Oblivion

Oblivion is a place that people

often visit. It’s a big place. You

can’t miss it. It’s a different world

that knows no boundaries. Nothing

exists in oblivion. Those who enter

can become stuck. Oblivion is a

state of mind. It’s more than being

oblivious. Ignorance is bliss. Go

up or down, right or left. Get up

and show the world you’re moving

to the rhythm of your choosing.

Trading Places

My life is full of experiences
that I would never trade.
If I were to go to the other
side, I would likely hide.
I couldn’t imagine being
anyone else. I could never
trade places or put on
new faces. Where I am at
is where I want to be.
At times, the grass does
seem greener, yet I know
there’s more grass to grow.
To be here is good for me.
I love the air that I breathe.
I envision a life I now see.
I don’t doubt what I believe.
I have faith in my taste.
I won’t waste the space
that occupies my place.
I enjoy my life as it is.
I would never swap it.
There’s too much I’d miss.

Down the Road

I see flowers growing
down the road. I see
them shooting through
the concrete. Under
my feet isn’t a street;
it’s a dirt road only
the roughest feet know.
I hear birds chirping
down the road. I see
the sun shoot rays
down the road. Now,
I stay in place, as I
take up space. I see
what could possibly be
in front of me. Down
the road is where I’ll go.

Stuck in Space

No way of getting home,
I float endlessly throughout
the vast galaxy. I see nothing
but stars and planets. Human
life seems to be so far away.
I can’t be the only one inside
this place. There should be
another face, but that’s not
the case. My spacesuit and I
hover over sea and land.
I’ve seen the dark side
of the moon far too soon.
It’s a beautiful view above.
It’s not something that I love,
but it’s not something I hate.
It is me: stuck in space
with many moons to face.
