Move

Hey. You! Yeah! You.
Move. Take a step.
Take a chance. Move.
Buy a new pair
of dancing shoes.
Find a different
groove. Don’t be
afraid to lose.
When you play,
pay your dues.
Move. It’s much
better when you
get to choose.
Keep on dancing
for your love is
everlasting. Move.
There is nothing
for you to prove.

I Can’t Breathe

As we know, breathing is a given right.
To stop someone from breathing means
to stop someone from living. We can’t
keep choking the air out of innocent
people – people who deserve better.
Think about those three words: I can’t
breathe. Does it stop your breath when
you think about those losing theirs?
To breath means to speak – to voice
opinions – to say “I love you”. Air
gets choked out of innocent lungs.
Let’s turn chokeholds into hugs.
Haven’t we learned that Mockingbirds
just want to dance and sing? Yet, we
still choose to harm them. All people
can’t breathe until they are set free.

Chasin’ the Dream

Running out of gas, I keep going fast.

I chase this dream just out of reach.

This road grows longer. Will I Last?

I chase this dream, a dream I’ll seize.

Come closer to shorten this distance

between where I’m at and what I chase.

Come closer to tell me where you went;

I want to know which direction to face.

You still matter more than you know,

but I can’t show you how much I care.

You still matter no matter where you go

and I couldn’t stop even if I dared.

I chase this dream, but it changes often

and it grows larger each mile I walk.

I chase this dream that seems to soften

every time I try to talk.

I chase this dream until my legs fail

because I must live the dream I dreamed.

I chase this dream as time sets sail

because this dream is closer than it seems.
