Into the Night

I live for the night. I always stay up.
I stay up as others lay down;
I find peace in a sleeping town.
The night time is the right time
to face the dark side of the day.
I like staying up deep into the night.
I feel alive when I walk empty streets.
I love sitting in a row of empty seats.
When I stay up, I see lights turn off.
I am awake to hear something
quickly turn into nothing. I am awake
to bring the only light into the night.
I am here to do my work out of sight.
I live for the night: What can I say?
My light does not shine during the day.

The Switch

I turn a new leaf

to recognize unseen designs.

I turn a new leaf

to see if the other side shines.

I turn a new leaf

and seek needed change.

I turn a new leaf

and keep dreams in range.

I turn a new leaf

leaving an old life behind.

I turn a new leaf

searching for a better time.

De-Pressed

Feeling down for reasons unknown

Fed up with pressures surrounded

Stuck in a mind of your own

Knowing each memory is counted

Stomach pressed and squeezed

Living the days with a straight face

Wondering if others are pleased

And truly happy in their place.

Wondering. Thinking. Wishing

For something more meaningful

BUT

With motivation and desire missing

Bodies are left with starving souls.

The brain can say what it wants

Almost like a separate entity;

BUT

The eyes feed the brain

and should not be enemies.

Believe what you see and

Paint the picture fitting

How valuable life is, man?

Priceless.

There is no bidding.

The Search

The search is synonymous with Chase

Walking but in a general direction

Hoping to land in a comfortable place

Waking up with zero recollection

Moving forward seems endless on straight paths

Drowning in voices that control moves

Turning the wrong way ends in laughs

Being silent in the world leaves empty tombs

Walking alone may create perspective

Toxins fill the airwaves everyday

Polluting whats considered our representative

Every shut door after the first is not play

But what we find at the end is subjective

What happens after is consistent

Being pleased with finding breaths is objective

Life happens and leaving one day is permanent.
