Blind Spots

90 on the freeway.
Fast lane cruising.
Chasing a sun some
run away from.
Burning gas and day
light. No time to waste.
Just money to make.
Tunnel vision – no time
to look back. Staying
in the fast lane. Not
in vain – just avoiding
pain. Reach top speed
and succeed. Pushing
the pace, it’s a race.
90 on the freeway.
It is my escape. Away
from slowing down,
I push toward new life:
another opening door.
In your blind spot,
I show myself before
I am somewhere else.
Don’t mind me. I am
gone: a fading song.

13 Moments

My day is made up of moments: moments that stick like cement.
Moments cement themselves into memories: memories that
stick with me and follow me.Throughout my day, moments
pass by faster than people do. Moments are quick to come
and are quick to go. Moments define the time had, whether
good or bad. I’m trying to live in the moment, but I’m worried
about the last and the next one. Several moments have gone by,
and I didn’t even notice. Now, I’m wasting this moment by
thinking about the last few. Momentarily, I notice this day:
this moment causing movement. I wish to share these moments
with the people I love and cherish. I’ve come to love every moment
even the ones I wish were gone. Moments pass by with a blink
of an eye. Moments become distant memories to some. Surprise.

No Fly Zone

Higher and higher – away we go.
We are flying in a no fly zone.
We have to fly; it’s the only way
home. We can’t let others see
us fly – they might shoot us
out of the air. Who would care?
In the air, no one would dare
to be seen. As frequent flyers,
we have an insatiable desire
that yearns to burn like fire.
They can’t keep us down forever.
Our wings – they could never
sever. We will continue to fly
anywhere we please. So please,
stay grounded and well-rounded.
This no fly zone is our new home:
a time in space we won’t waste.

Wasted

I have wasted time: the most precious

gift that is missed. I have wasted breath

during times of stress. I have wasted

food. I have wasted energy on people

I didn’t like. I have wasted some life

thinking twice. I know I have wasted

things, as many of us have. I think

about the things that I have wasted

to ultimately find out that I didn’t waste

anything at all. I don’t see pasts events

as that anymore. All the things I have

gotten to know will help lead me home.
