It’s hard to know what lurks beneath.
We tread water without knowing what
roams underneath our feet. Behind
every door and inside every mind
is a world left to be explored.
What isn’t known is rarely shown.
The mind is a very powerful place;
it rests behind an accomodating face.
Some show love while concealing hate.
Creatures of the deep can only be
seen in our sleep. Extraterrestrial life
visit during the night. We often think
of monsters inside our heads. If we
dove to the deepest, darkest depth,
we’d know where our monsters selpt.
It’s hard to understand what we can’t see.
It’s easy to dismiss what we don’t believe.
Just because it’s not in front of us
doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist.
If you weren’t there, did it really occur?
The line between fact and fiction blur.
Our eyes play tricks on us. At times,
it’s too strange to discuss. Until two
pair of eyes see the same thing,
it’s easy to seem deranged. Far beneath
the surface are monsters out of sight:
anomalies that go bump in the night.
