The Witch (2015) ๐ŸŽ๐Ÿ

Directed by Robert Eggers

—————————————

I can feel the darkness

consuming my family.

I don’t understand why

something so complicated

can happen to simple

folk like us. We live pure

lives. I’m just not sure

how things went

so wrong. It’s never been

this bad on our farm.

I can’t trust Thomasin –

that senseless daughter

of mine; she was watching

Samuel when he vanished.

It’s all her fault. I know

she planned it. She needs

to repent. Her mother

won’t stop crying;

our crops are dying,

and now, I have my youngest

daughters talking to

the goat. What is happening?

I should have just sent

that witch away.

She has cursed us. She is

plaguing our family

with death and disaster.

It’s our lives she’s after.

I can’t trust anyone.

I might be paranoid,

but I have a feeling that

the devil is here. I’m waiting

for him to show himself.

Sometimes, dark times last

forever, but that’s how it must go.

How can I not question

my faith? How many lives

must he take? Holy Father,

help me cleanse this

farm of its evil. Late

one evening, I walked

outside and was attacked

by that horned beast. I saw

my life flashing inside

that damned goat’s eyes.

He caught me by surprise,

and I couldn’t ward off

his evil no matter how

hard I tried. I don’t know

why Black Phillip chose us.

He filled our lives with

dread and fear. The devil

rose from below the ground

and took the form

of a black goat with

blood dripping off his horns.
