Transcendence 

The steps I’ve made

and the years I’ve seen

Allowed me to appreciate

the time in-between.

The days go by;

my clock keeps ticking

Faster and faster

to match my thinking.

Thoughts and memories

fade into the abyss,

Leaving behind

what will be missed.

But the changes

that I see help me

Envision a new

place to be.
