No Pain

When the pain comes,
I don’t hide. I show
myself. The pain comes
in waves – to say hello
and goodbye. I wave
back. I tell myself;
it will be okay. Today,
I go without feeling
pain – with nothing
but good thoughts –
inside my brain. Now,
I feel good. I feel free
as I walk today’s path.
I walk to a distant tree;
I take small steps to
a new life and I forget
about the pain I felt.
