Labels are stickers

slapped on those

who cannot control

what others think.

Some stickers are hard

to peel off. But, you

didn’t stick it there;

someone else did.

Labels don’t define.

They undermine.

They are signs

people read:

messages received.

Products need

labels, not people.

Mistakes happen.

Lessons are learned.

Those playing with

fire will get burned.

We all heal. People

grow and mature.

Some choose to not

see positive changes

others make.

Each day is a

clean slate. Others may

say this or that because

of your race, religion,

creed or past choices.

They don’t

know who you are.

They judge from afar,

but the jury is out,

and they are guilty

for judging the cover

without opening

the book and reading

the story.

Is it that hard to be

uplifting? Mindsets

need shifting.

They know nothing

about you or your life.

If they could, they

would blame the sun

for shining bright.

Those who label

assume the worst.

They are chained to

predisposed thoughts:

locked behind

bars – trapped inside

a mental prison

with no intention

to break out. Behind

each label is a human

like you and me.

Don’t put a label

on everyone you see

if you wish to be free.

Labels are shortcuts. We need to use them sometimes but need to use them wisely.
