The pendulum swings. The tide will turn in due time. Walking

a tight rope is better than walking the plank. Everything was

mundane before my ship sank. Many journeys begin with

smooth sailings and fair winds. The road will get rocky. Nervous

feelings serve a purpose. Anxiety will resurface when control is

relinquished. Unchecked predispositions result in

intrinsic affliction. Comfort zones become graveyards

where dreams die. When we take a wrong turn, we gain wisdom

from lessons otherwise never learned. It’s better for cups

to overflow then for them to stay empty. It’s better to start

a painting then to leave the canvas blank. For your own sake,

learn from your mistakes. The thought of stepping into

the unknown might deter you from trying, but when you

traverse uncharted oceans, you are yearning for a life worth living.

Waves will crash and wavering waters will get rough.

Ultimately, it’s likely that we will wind up landing on a beach:

a place of peace and solace; but if we get lost at sea, we need

to let it be. Whatever the outcome, our souls will inevitably be

set free. Regardless of our beliefs, we are destined to leave

this enchanted Earth. For what it’s worth, it’s thoughtful to give

credence to our improbable birth. Praise the powers at be.

One day, we will see that life is a gift: a present that gives us

the power to look forward to the future and reflect on

the past. Time expedetially flies by; it is incredibly elusive.

Sacrificial sand falls through the hour glass with haste with each

passing year. Even then, there’s nothing to fear. Father Time

sets alarm clocks that can go off at random. When that happens,

it means that our time is up. At any point, we will wash upon

the shore we desperately seek. Proceeding with caution

is a forgotten fallacy: a falsehood misunderstood. Following

a compass is practical in theory but in the end, we can’t pretend

that things will go as planned. We don’t know how the waters

will behave. We may be at the helm, but steering the ship

can be an impossible task. Things fall apart, but we’ll revel in

the rubble. Don’t dwell on the destruction we never meant

to cause. Every departure will lead us to a newfound sense of

salvation. It’s time to walk through a door yet to be explored.

The imagery in this piece is sharp—especially that line ” It’s better for cups

to overflow then for them to stay empty.”
