What I want you to do is find your favorite quote, either from a book, song, or movie, and write a poem that directly relates or responds to the quote you chose. Below is the quote that inspired my poem: Make a Move. Post your quote and poem in the comment section, or post a link to the post! I would love to read them.

“A man who procrastinates in his choosing will inevitably have his choice made for him by circumstance.” – Hunter S. Thompson

Make a Move by Jesse McDaniel

Take a risk. Seize the moment.

Don’t wait for someone to ask

you to dance. Before you know

it and by the end of the song, that

person you’re waiting on

will surely be long gone.

There’s a small window of time

to act before the door

you wished you walked

through gets slammed shut.

Dreams are meant to be

chased, not locked in a vault

and kept away. There’s nothing

worse than keeping your car

parked when it is waiting

for you to turn the key:

for you to start it up. If your tank

is full by the end of the day,

there were opportunities missed

and mistakes that we meant

Each memory must be cherish

because like you and me, all that

exists will perish. The days

leading up to our expiration date

should be a time to look back,l

and feel proud of the life

we chose to live: the love

we decided to give. Not all

good things come to those

who wait. We think we have

the last laugh, but fate will sit

back and smile, knowing that

it will have the final say.
