The next time you listen to any sort of music or song that you enjoy, be sure to pay attention to the rhyme scheme. Artists and songwriters are conscientious of rhyming when they create their music or song. Not only does it help with the flow, but it creates a rhythm that draws and attracts listeners. Listening to music and analyzing lyrics can be extremely helpful in your journey to become a better poet. For example, I briefly analyzed a song for the rhyme scheme. Of course, songs may use rhymes differently, but the principal still applies to poetry. You would be surprised how many poets across the bridge to music and songwriting.
